Exterior Views (view photo gallery): Split Rock Trail is sited on a 1/2 acre lot on a quiet cul-de-sac a little downhill from Devil's Knob. It adjoins the Shamokin Nature Preserve, featuring a path through the woods leading to Stoney Creek, the Old Appalachain Trail, and the Shamokin Falls Upper Gorge Trail. The grounds surrounding the house are filled with mountain laurel, rhododendron, and many types of ferns and hardwoods. Deer pass through the grounds on their regular rounds. Foliage colors change with the seasons. The house is less than five minutes from the Wintergarden Spa. During ski season, guests may park at the Wintergarden and ride the shuttle to the slopes and the Mountain Inn, thus avoiding the crush of the public parking areas. It is nestled into the side of the mountain so that the main entrance is at the same level as the parking area and the lower level exits at ground level. The house is heated with in-wall electric heater/blowers and each room has its own thermostat.

Great Room (view photo gallery): The Great Room is approximately 33' by 33' and includes space for a Living Room, Dining room, Kitchen, and sitting area. Capped by a cathedral ceiling with recessed lighting and ceiling fan, the room features a stone fireplace and sliding door access to the wrap around deck. A 27" TV and DVD with cable access nestles in the corner next to the fireplace and across from the sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped, including all the appliances you might desire: coffee maker, bean grinder, toaster, blender, can opener, crock pot, and more. It features an automatic ice maker, both microwave and electric ovens, and disposal.

Family Room, Lower Level (view photo gallery): The Family Room is furnished with a futon sofa that can be converted to a double bed and two bean bag chairs. The room also contains an LCD TV with cable, DVD, VCR, Play Station 2 with games, Dart Board, and 9 foot shuffleboard table. The Family Room has windows on two sides, is insulated and heated for the winter, and in the summer it is the coolest area in the house. It has two ceiling fans with lights. The large sliding door opens to the lower deck, exiting at ground level to the forest.

Bedrooms & Baths (view photo gallery): One Bedroom, about 11' by 13½', contains a large closet, queen-sized bed, dresser, and bedside tables and lamps. Another bedroom, about 10' by 13½', also contains a large closet, queen-sized bed, dresser, night stand, and lamp. The loft, approximately 14' by 11½, contains a double bed, 2 nightstands, lamps, and a wardrobe. The lower level bedroom features a queen size bed, nightstand, and dresser and has windows on two sides. The closet is in the hallway between the bedroom and bath, along with the laundry area. In all bedrooms, the ceiling light and fan have their own controls, and heat is controlled by a thermostatically controlled wall heaters. The Lower Level Bathroom features a stall shower, overhead heat lamps and exhaust fan, and thermostatically controlled wall heater. The laundry area contains a washer and dryer, steam iron, and ironing board. A limited amount of laundry detergent is usually on hand.
